Mobilehommes, drawings, 21x29cm, 2009- on going

Continuing one of my artistic endeavour – drawing during the experimental workshop of contemporary art held in Loule, Portugal – ´´MobileHommes´´ is a project I created in 2009 and which includes 38 works. Lagar das Portas do Ceu is an old oil factory built in a specific traditional Portuguese architectural style. The building, now almost torn down, was the location of the workshops where, for five weeks, art theorists, curators and artists have worked together, using their own personal experiences as base for the research process. Each of the participants had its own space to work with, so that their artistic efforts would bring back to life / reanimate the place, by means of painting, drawing, photography and installations. I’ve drawn portraits of everyone involved in the workshop and created a map of the place – Lagar, which is based on the connection between the space and the artists, curators and theorists.
